About This Project

Kaitlyn came into the studio in full holiday spirit, bringing with her a wild and hilarious family story that inspired her original song, Run’d Off Rudolf—a playful take on the shenanigans her family gets into around Christmas. Jesse engineered the session at SAE Studios, working on the legendary SSL 9000J console and patching in gear for a rich, full mix.

The session featured Grammy Award-winning guitarist Aaron Rodgers, whose signature touch elevated the track, while Jesse was guided and coached by Music Row A-lister and vocal engineer Brad Winters. With everyone on a tight schedule, the team managed to record and produce the song just in time for the holidays—capturing all the fun, chaos, and warmth of Kaitlyn’s story.

But the session didn’t end in the control room. That Christmas, Kaitlyn invited Jesse to join her family for a festive gathering with “the Crokers”—and in true holiday fashion, the entire recording crew was welcomed in for some unforgettable cheer. Turns out, they didn’t just run off Rudolf—they brought the whole studio with them.
